  • Jim Thompson Captures Global Spotlight With The White Lotus Season 3

Jim Thompson Captures Global Spotlight With The White Lotus Season 3

Thailand’s iconic global lifestyle brand, Jim Thompson, is making waves across international media and Hollywood thanks to its standout presence in the third season of HBO’s critically acclaimed series, The White Lotus. From red carpet premieres in Los Angeles to on-screen costume designs that wove Thai fashion into the series’ narrative, Jim Thompson’s impact has earned widespread acclaim — marking a defining moment for Thailand’s creative industries on the global stage.

Celebrating Thai Icons at Global Premieres

At The White Lotus Season 3 premiere in Los Angeles, Jim Thompson dressed legendary actress Patravadi Mejudhon in a custom-made ensemble that caught the attention of Vogue US and other international media outlets. Her striking look, designed exclusively by Jim Thompson, became a conversation starter and positioned Thai craftsmanship firmly on the global fashion map.

During the Bangkok premiere at ICONSIAM, Patravadi captivated once again in another bespoke Jim Thompson ensemble, joined by actor Dom Hetrakul who showcased an elevated take on modern Thai resort wear — a stunning testament to the rising wave of Thai talent now capturing global attention.

    Style That Became a Story

In The White Lotus Season 3, Jim Thompson’s designs moved beyond costume — they became integral to the show’s storytelling. Actress Parker Posey, playing Victoria Ratliff, wore several Jim Thompson pieces that added visual richness and emotional depth to her character.

In her interview with ELLE US, Parker highlighted favourites such as the Slipper Orchid Silk Kimono Kaftan Dress, Roses Ruffle Sleeveless Silk Maxi Dress, and the Scarf Kaftan — each quickly going viral across fashion media and social platforms, drawing even more global eyes to Thai design excellence.

Jim Thompson’s Artistic Imprint on the Series

Beyond fashion, Jim Thompson’s textiles were woven seamlessly into the interiors of The White Lotus Season 3. Filming locations including Four Seasons Koh Samui, Anantara Bophut, Anantara Mai Khao, Four Seasons Bangkok, and Mandarin Oriental were enhanced with Jim Thompson Home Furnishings fabrics — creating a visual narrative that immersed viewers in Thailand’s luxurious hospitality and craftsmanship. The use of legendary, high-performance fabrics in the décor highlighted the brand’s reputation for quality and elevated the show’s dreamy resort settings.

A particularly striking moment came with the staff uniforms worn by characters played by Lisa (Lalisa Manobal) and Dom Hetrakul, featuring Jim Thompson’s iconic DUQUETTERIE pattern in the vivid Sunflower colorway. The popularity of these appearances sparked the launch of the Sunflower Limited-Edition Collection, allowing fans to bring a piece of the series’ sun-drenched style into their own lives.

    Global Media Recognition

Jim Thompson’s involvement did not go unnoticed. Major publications including The New York Times, Vogue Business US, Harper’s Bazaar US, W Magazine, Women’s Wear Daily, New York Post, and Flaunt hailed the brand’s standout role in the series. The exposure cemented Jim Thompson’s position as a global leader in resort wear and showcased the growing power of Thai creative industries on the world stage.

Extending the Narrative: Beneath The Bloom

Capitalising on the momentum, Jim Thompson launched Beneath The Bloom — a three-part fashion campaign starring Thai actors from The White Lotus Season 3. Set in the brand’s Home Furnishings Showroom in Bangkok, the campaign blends cinematic storytelling with high fashion, exploring themes of power, betrayal, and legacy, and further cementing Jim Thompson’s connection to the artistic pulse of the series.

    A Thai Cultural Turning Point

Jim Thompson’s starring role in The White Lotus is more than a triumph of fashion — it is a powerful example of Thailand’s emerging soft power. The visibility of Thai brands at the highest levels of international media signals a new era of confidence in Thailand’s creative prowess. Following the success of the show, Jim Thompson’s website traffic surged in the U.S. and globally as fans rushed to recreate the effortless, elevated looks from the screen.

Today, Jim Thompson stands as a symbol of how Thai design can honour its rich cultural heritage while setting new standards of style for a global audience. As the brand steps boldly into this new chapter, it carries with it not only decades of craftsmanship, but the boundless spirit of a dynamic and inspiring future.

  • The Slate Phuket – Holiday Getaway For You & Your Beloved Dogs

The Slate Phuket – Holiday Getaway For You & Your Beloved Dogs

The Slate Phuket, the whimsical, art-inspired resort on Phuket’s secluded northwest shore, is rolling out the welcome mat for our four-legged friends this summer, with the announcement that you will now be able to enjoy stylish five-star escapes with their dogs. The resort’s new dog-friendly policy means that up to two pooches can experience the life of luxury in a One-Bedroom Pool Villa, Two-Bedroom Family Pool Villa or Two Bedroom Pool Villa – as long as they are accompanied by a well-behaved owner. During their stay, pampered pups will be able to unwind in their beautiful villa, sleep in their own comfortable dog bed, which will be provided by The Slate, and even cool off in their private pool!

The Slate Phuket – Special Attention To Your Pooches

Food and water bowls will be set up in the room, daily doggie treats will be provided at turndown, and The Slate will give every canine guest a signature badge for their leash – the ultimate fashion accessory for the discerning dog! A series of “Furry Services” will also be offered at an extra charge, including a nutritious and delicious gourmet menu, plus dog walking and sitting services for travellers seeking some human time. For complete peace of mind, veterinary services will be available on call.

The Slate Phuket – House Rules Applies

To ensure the comfort of all other guests, The Slate has created some house rules for its canine clientele. All dogs must be free from fleas or ticks, their vaccinations must be up-to-date, and they must be kept on a leash when not in the villa. Poop bags will be provided to owners who must take care of their pets’ mess, and while The Slate loves all tail-waggers to be happy and playful, they must also be relatively quiet and under control.

Regrettably, pets are not permitted in the resort’s public areas such as swimming pools, restaurants, the Coqoon Spa and fitness centre. But the soft sands and shallow seas of Nai Yang Beach are just moments away, providing the perfect place for dogs to run, splash and play fetch to their hearts’ content. After such a fun-filled day, every pooch will get a great night’s sleep in their pool villa, with plenty of doggie dreams.

“At The Slate, we understand that for many people, their dogs are an important part of their family. We want to make it easier for every guest to travel and stay in style with their pooches. Our pool villas will let pets unwind and live the life of luxury – swimming in their private pool, dining from a gourmet menu and even wearing The Slate’s dog tag with pride! We can’t wait to welcome our four-legged friends to Phuket this summer,” said the hotel’s co-founder and owner, Krystal Prakaikaew Na-Ranong (known to her friends as “Khun Moo”).

The Slate Phuket – Perks & Privileges

Under The Slate Sanctuary package, guest who book a pool villa will receive a wealth of extra privileges, including daily afternoon tea and in-villa breakfast, a bottle of bubbly, the chef’s curated arrival treats, packing and unpacking services, complimentary minibar items, free laundry, roundtrip airport transfers, kids’ and family activities, a “Meet the Chef” experience, private Muay Thai or Pilates classes, a 10% discount at KRU Precision Wellness, a 120-minute Coqoon Rebirth Massage for two people, and 20% off other spa treatments. Guests who book a five-night stay will be treated to a three-course dinner at Black Ginger, and those staying for seven nights will receive a private in-villa barbecue! Rates start from just THB 13,000++ per night.

Under The Slate’s dog-friendly policy, up to two dogs are permitted per villa, with a maximum weight of 7.5kg each. A fee of THB 1,500 per dog per night is applicable. For more information, simply visit www.theslatephuket.com.

  • Phuket Re-opens After Pandemic – Top 10 Things to See and Do In Phuket

Phuket Re-opens After Pandemic – Top 10 Things to See and Do In Phuket

For decades Phuket has been one of the most popular island destinations in Thailand, attracting millions of visitors each year. With the disappearance of international tourists for the last 18 months the island’s stunning beaches have once again become pristine, the azure waters teeming with an abundance of sea life and the surrounding islands rejuvenated with lush greenery unseen before. Now the island is ready to welcome back visitors from around the world from July 1st and Anantara has put together a top ten unmissable things to experience on a visit to Phuket.

    1. Go on a walk-through history

Phuket has come a long way from its beginnings as a tin-mining settlement, but with a little imagination, you can almost see the merchants of yore arraying goods inside the ornate Sino-Portuguese shophouses in Phuket Town. Converted into trendy restaurants, guesthouses and boutique hotels, they have since received a new lease on life; many restored to their former glory.

    2. Insta-float amongst giant lilies

If you like your nature to come with a side of strange and unusual, you will love the Ma Doo Bua café. A must-visit destination for botanists and Instagrammers alike, this lakeside eatery is home to a colony of giant water lilies strong enough to hold the weight of a child (or a very light adult).

    3. A bridge to the heart

Ask any older resident of Phuket and they will recount the story of the island’s very own Romeo and Juliet who met their untimely end on the Sarasin Bridge. Connecting the mainland of Phuket and Phang Nga in southern Thailand, the bridge opened in 1967 and is considered by some, the most beautiful bridge in the country. In 1987 it entered the collective memory when the tragic romance between two young lovers was made into a film titled “Saphan Rak Sarasin” (Sarasin, The Bridge of Love). Whether you come here to reflect on life, love or have a photoshoot at the pretty pergola overlooking the river, Sarasin Bridge is guaranteed to make an impact.

    4. Take part in a sea turtle release

Five of the world’s seven existent species of sea turtles – Leatherback, the Loggerhead, the Olive Ridley, the Hawksbill and the Green turtles – can be found in the waters of the Andaman Sea. All are classified as either endangered or threatened. Mai Khao beach is one of the few Phuket beaches that continues to welcome nesting turtles, thanks to the efforts of Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation which focuses on enhanced nest protection and improved incubation conditions. Anantara Mai Khao’s Annual Turtle Release takes place around the Songkran holiday in mid-April and brings the entire community together.

    5. Tipple on the island’s own rum

To explore a more contemporary side of Phuket, head to the award-winning Chalong Bay Rum Distillery. Plan to spend a few hours here as you tour the facilities learning the centuries-old French technique of using copper stills, before joining a cocktail-making workshop centred on Chalong Bay’s pure sugarcane juice rum. Distilled and bottled in Phuket and packed with local botanicals, it skillfully showcases the terroir of the island.

    6. Experience local life

Koh Panyee is a small fishing village built on stilts a 20-minute longtail boat ride from the main island. The local Muslim community are always welcoming and ready to show you around their unique home in the shallow waters. The floating village has a school, a mosque, small souvenir shops, and restaurants. The community are also football mad and have their very own floating football stadium and their love of the game has made them one of Southern Thailand’s best football teams.

    7. See gibbons ethically

Gibbons were poached to the brink of extinction in Phuket’s jungle over 40 years ago. Today, they are illegally kept as pets or used as props in tourist photos feeding the demand for baby gibbons. But there is a way to engage with these gorgeous creatures in an ethical way. Phuket’s Gibbon Rehabilitation Project, a research division of the Wild Animal Rescue Foundation of Thailand (WARF), rescues gibbons and rehabilitates them so that they can be reintroduced into their natural habitat. Visit the centre to learn about the work the centre is doing, as well as observe the animals at the designated viewing areas.

    8. The Man with The Golden Gun Layan Experience

Your mission if you choose to accept it is to enjoy the ‘Golden Gun’ experience at Anantara Layan Residences.  Catch a private jet from Bangkok to Phuket, be whisked by chauffeur-driven limo to the 8-bedroom, Villa Similan, the largest and most luxurious of the resort’s residences. Enjoy martinis (shaken not stirred) by your own private butler before being presented with THE actual golden gun from the 1974 movie. A glamorous yacht cruise around Phang Nga Bay, where The Man with the Golden Gun was filmed, with free-flowing Krug champagne tops off the Bond experience.

    9. Shop till you drop

Phuket’s famous Sunday Walking Street Market on old Thalang Road has something for everyone from secondhand goods, clothes, souvenirs and the best part of it is the amazing array of local food to sample. Even if you aren’t looking to buy, the electric atmosphere and historic setting is guaranteed to charm.

    10. Get back to nature

Take a hike to the island’s last virgin rainforest Khao Phra Thaeo National Park. The rainforest is known for its wide array of birds and wildlife, but the main attraction is the Bang Pae waterfall offering a cool spot to swim after a long hike.

We hope we have gotten you excited for Phuket after the long pandemic restrictions. Visit Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas and Anantara Layan Phuket Resort to explore them for your accommodation needs today.

It has also harnessed the skill and vision of young graduates from Silapakorn University, who were invited to paint the walls with authentic designs.

Artslonga has already been commissioned for a series of prestigious art projects, including ICONSIAM, the landmark riverside development in Bangkok. She was joined by 15 up-and-coming Thai artists, all of whom have recently graduated with Master’s degrees. Four Points By Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort – Reflecting Local Heritage

Phuket’s Peranakan culture was created by the arrival of Chinese immigrants, predominantly of Hokkien ancestry, who originally came to work in the island’s tin mining industry. • Six Senses Yao Noi: Wine, Dine & Savour Views Of Phang Nga Bay

Six Senses Yao Noi: Wine, Dine & Savour Views Of Phang Nga Bay

Celebrating a new decade calls for newly crafted experiences and Six Senses Yao Noi sets out to deliver the best cocktail-sipping spot in Southeast Asia. The newly-launched signature venue, The Hilltop, is situated at the highest point in the resort overlooking the renowned limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay.

Six Senses Yao Noi – The Inspiration

The Hilltop’s innovative new look is inspired by the nest of the Oriental Pied Hornbills, a rare species of bird that makes its home on the island of Yao Noi. From wood and woven bamboo elements to egg-shaped cushions and lamps down to fine details such as the eggshell-textured finishing of the bar, the Six Senses creative team has combined design elements, colour schemes and materials to evoke a bird’s nest perched on a treetop.

Following a four-month renovation period, the expanded facilities include a dining area named The Tasting Room, a chill-out lounge in a bamboo dome and a bar overlooking one of the best views in Southeast Asia. There are daybeds, trampoline nets and a swinging bridge, which reflect Six Senses fun and quirky approach to style and design. The infinity-edge pool has also been resurfaced to complete the fresh new look.

Graham Grant, General Manager of Six Senses Yao Noi, said: “The Hilltop boasts a one-of-a-kind view, but the venue itself is more than just an insta-worthy shot. The overall experience is crafted to be chic and cool, including a ‘chill by day, elegant by night’ dining affair, alongside the warm service culture for which our hosts are so well-known.”

Six Senses Yao Noi – Wine & Dine At The Tasting Room

The dining experience has been updated with sustainability, flavour and hospitality in mind. The Tasting Room is a plastic-free environment sourcing ethical produce. The locally grown, progressive western cuisine follows the Eat With Six Senses ethos of natural ingredients, local and sustainable and less is more.

At the pool, you and your loved ones will be able to indulge in a range of salads and options from the grill while sipping their favourite cocktails and working on that island vacation tan. For casual dining, the newly fitted bar serves crudo, tapas-style, alongside herb-based and locally infused sundowners.

  • 5 Things To Do On Your Phuket Holiday

5 Things To Do On Your Phuket Holiday

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and is also one of the most visited provinces, with more than 5 million tourists enjoying its cultural and natural wonders. From beaches and islands to temples and towering religious icons, Phuket has Thailand’s best offerings collected in one place.

If you’re planning to visit, the best time to get a Phuket tour package is from November to late April. This is the sunniest season, so you can freely explore the so-called “Pearl of the Andaman.” Do you already have a tour package booked? Here are just a few suggestions for your itinerary to make the most out of your Phuket holiday.

Phuket Holiday – Kata and Kata Noi Beaches

Kata Beach is a favourite of both locals and visitors. It boasts soft white sand, tall willowy palms, clear blue waters, and a peaceful vibe. In fact, even if it’s a tourist hub, Kata Beach remains tranquil and laid-back. It’s also a famous surfing spot when the monsoon season strikes, which makes it one of the most active beaches in Phuket all year. Finally, Kata Beach is easy to navigate. The south end features top-tier hotels and restaurants, while the northern side hosts food and drink vendors for those on a tighter budget.

If you’re looking for more privacy, drive a little further and you’ll reach Kata Noi Beach. Its name literally means “Little Kata,” so you can expect all of Kata Beach’s beauty in a smaller package. A lot of Phuket’s high-end resorts are located in Kata Noi, along with sunset bars that have the best views of the sea and the horizon. Snorkelling is a popular activity in Kata Noi, while the central beach is almost perfectly smooth so you can swim and walk barefoot without worrying about hurting your toes. Meanwhile, south of Kata Noi Beach is the Karon View Point. As the island’s most popular viewpoint, it provides a great of the Andaman Sea and the west coast of Phuket.

Phuket Holiday – The Big Buddha

Sitting atop the Nakkerd Hills is a towering 45-metre statue of the Buddha, aptly called the Great Buddha of Phuket or just the Big Buddha for short. It’s one of Phuket’s most famous landmarks, not to mention the most noticeable. In fact, you can see it even from the city of Phuket, 10 kilometres away from Chalong where the statue is located. And when you get to the top, you’ll be treated to a 360-degree view of Phuket and the serene face of the Buddha.

Also called the Phra Puttamingmongkol Akenakkiri Buddha, the Big Buddha statue was built in 2004 using reinforced concrete and additional layers of Burmese white jade. It’s particularly beautiful on a sunny day since the white jade sparkles in the sunlight. And as a sort of companion, standing next to the Big Buddha is a smaller statue made from gold-coloured brass.

Because of its location close to beautiful beaches, it’s easy to forget that the Big Buddha is still a religious site. Remember to change out of your swimwear before you visit! There are sarongs available on site for cover-ups, but it’s still best if you simply come to the venue appropriately dressed.

Phuket Holiday – Phang Nga Bay

Some of the wonderful sights you’ll encounter in Phang Nga Bay include limestone cliffs, lagoons, stunning cave networks, and mangrove forests. You can spend the entire day here boating, swimming, catching gorgeous sights, or simply lazing around in the clear waters. You can even see some of the reclusive animals that find shelter in the area if you’re lucky.

What’s great about Phang Nga Bay is that the surrounding cliffs protect it from harsh storms, so that the islands don’t get ravaged. If you don’t want to miss out on the must-see spots, it’s best to hire a tour guide to show you around. For a bit of reference, James Bond Island and Koh Panyee are two of the most visited spots. They’re worth a visit, for sure, but you can ask your tour guide to avoid these areas if you’re looking for somewhere with less of a crowd.

    Phuket Holiday – Elephant Sanctuaries

The elephant is the national symbol of Thailand and meeting them up close and personal is one of the most popular tourist activities in the country. However, there have been controversies surrounding the unethical treatment of these gentle and majestic animals for the sake of tourism. But for responsible eco-tourists who want to meet and interact with elephants, the elephant sanctuaries in Phuket are perfect destinations.

Here, most of the animals are rescued or retired from harmful activities, they stay in open environments, and there’s absolutely no riding allowed. The residents are also given a priority as a means of community development. You can find elephant sanctuaries in Bangtao, Naithon, Phang Nga, and the city of Phuket.

Phuket Holiday – Phuket Old Town

The city of Phuket is arguably the most unique, most charming provincial capital in Thailand. If you need convincing, go to its Old Town district. This is where you’ll find Phuket’s temples and shrines, museums, ornate “shophouses,” lavish Sino-colonial mansions, old-style printing shops, and small but charming coffee shops.

Old Town rose to prominence during the “tin boom,” when tin and its alloys were so in-demand not just in Bangkok but also in Europe, where these materials were used for tin cans, electronics, and various other products. But throughout the years, Phuket Old Town managed to retain its sense of grandeur, and you’ll definitely see the evidence of its past glory in every street corner.

Phuket is a popular destination for honeymooners, but it’s so much more than a romantic destination. Head on over if you can so you can take in its great sights and experience many fun activities for yourself.

  • Banyan Tree Phuket – Ultimate Guide To A Tropical Asian Getaway

Banyan Tree Phuket – Ultimate Guide To A Tropical Asian Getaway

Nestled between white sandy beaches and coconut groves, the serenely beautiful Banyan Tree Phuket is a tropical Asian getaway destination like no other. As the ultimate oasis for those who seek peace and relaxation in Bang Tao Bay, Banyan Tree Phuket’s newest upgrades mean that every villa now has its own private pool, and is finely furnished with modern conveniences and a range of extensive add-ons. Join us as we bring you through all that Banyan Tree Phuket has to offer!

Banyan Tree Phuket – Familiar Warm Welcome

Banyan Tree Phuket is just a short 30 minutes car ride away from Phuket International Airport. Once we arrived at its lobby, the familiar Banyan Tree hospitality took over. We were served refreshing cold towels, welcome drinks and biscuits while the staff checked us in.

Once the administrative matters are completed, we were then whisked off on a buggy to our pool villa. There is a ‘Privacy Please’ and ‘Please Make Up Our Room’ slider beside our villa entrance. Do not make the same mistake as us by leaving the ‘Privacy’ option on when you leave the villa in mid to late afternoon. You will not be able to enjoy their amazing evening turndown service if you do so.

Banyan Tree Phuket – The Villa Accommodation

The entire resort consists of a total of 137 delicately constructed options ranging from Deluxe Pool Villas to Double Pool Villas are spread comfortably across the spacious grounds that circle the lagoon. Each is built around a natural landscaped garden with an outdoor jet pool (which we had our floating breakfast) and timber sundecks which just step away from the door.

A large bedroom, spacious interior with comfortable and artistic furnishings,

a fully equipped kitchenette, large living areas,

as well as a deluxe bathroom, each with his & her dressing areas are also features of every property at Banyan Tree Phuket.

Thai inspired décor blends together tradition and modern furnishings, coupled with relaxing scents provide a private and memorable setting.

Banyan Tree Phuket – Alluring Pools

We absolutely loved their 2 main pools which are connected to one another by a discrete, narrow waterway. The 40-metre long spa area pool is and is surrounded by the Japanese restaurant as well as a lounging area which is out of bounce for kids hence offers a quiet, reflective soak or leisure lap swims.

The other pool is built for lazing poolside sun tanning, playful frolic with water rapids and jacuzzi jet-pool. Friendly pool attendants are on hand to prepare your preferred deck chairs. Board games and magazines are also available.

The pool bar proudly showcases locally produced gin from the nearby Chalong Bay Distillery.

I could not resist sipping a delicious glass of Thai Mai Tai right by the pool.

Banyan Tree Phuket – Breakfast Your Way

There are two ways you can have your breakfast at Banyan Tree Phuket. You can have it at The Watercourt Restaurant which offers you an amazing spread of local and continental cuisine. We particularly adore the local coconut jam on toasts and the unlimited helping of mango sticky rice.

Folks who adore bubblies during breakfast would be thrilled to know that Mimosas and sparkling wine are served too.

If you prepare to have breakfast in the comfort and privacy of your villa, you can choose between local Thai or continental breakfast and request for the spread to be served on a floating basket in your villa pool. There is a charge to it but the experience and Instagrammable stories and photos made it really worthwhile.

Banyan Tree Phuket – Evening Wine & Dine

For fine dining, Banyan Tree Phuket brings together a range of different styles, with each restaurant’s menu specially crafted by internationally-renowned Executive Chef Alfonso de la Dehesa. As the signature restaurant at Banyan Tree Phuket, Saffron serves award-winning traditional Thai cuisine. We will share our dining experience at the Saffron in another post.

Among many other dining options, a wonderfully romantic setting can also be provided onboard Sanya Rak – “The Promise of Love” for a price. You and your special half can embark on a long-boat trip and enjoy a memorable dinner under the moonlight.

Banyan Tree Phuket – Award-winning Spa

The Banyan Tree Phuket Spa brings bodily relaxation to pleasure-seekers, courtesy of highly skilled and trained staff members whose versatile skills show their expertise in a range of established massage techniques honed through time and tradition.

Everything is customisable. You get to choose your preferred treatment and massage oil

and enjoy your massage in a beautiful spa villa. We will share the treatment experience in a separate post too!

Banyan Tree Phuket – Head To The Beach

If you love the beach, you can head out of the resort to their exclusive stretch of beach.

Similar to the pools, there are Banyan Tree staff present at the beach as well to prepare your beach couches for waves glazing.

The staff will also thoughtfully prepare cold bottles of water and towels to keep you cool and hydrated.

Banyan Tree Phuket – Old Town Here We Come!

Despite having been to Phuket a few times, this is the first time we visited Phuket Old Town. It was a rather surprising experience as it gives a rather strong Penang vibe.

There are plenty of wall murals, a strong community of Chinese, Peranakan heritage presence and the restaurants served rather decent Chinese cuisine.

Other than the Old Town, you can also venture out to Patong Beach as well as take the local shuttle to resort Coral Village. But we were not exactly a fan of both, why leave your amazing villa to visit the local touristy traps?

Overall, we really enjoyed our trip to Banyan Tree Phuket. They never disappoint when it comes to delivering topnotch service and amazing resort experience. You may also want to check out our experience at Banyan Tree Bangkok too!

  • Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong – Neighbourhood Inspired For Authentic Stay

Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong – Neighbourhood Inspired For Authentic Stay

The electrifying neighbourhood of Patong, Phuket now has a new social heartbeat with the opening of the 180-rooms Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong in late 2018. Inspired by the neighbourhood’s fishing villages, tropical rainforests and pulsating nightlife, the hotel will be a gallery and canvas reflecting Patong’s culture and history in a stylish, spirited and inviting space. A local and authentic approach to dining and social experiences will set the stage for a refreshed Patong journey.

“We will be located in one of the most exciting neighbourhoods of Phuket — Patong Beach. There’s no other neighbourhood quite as electrifying as this. With authenticity at its very core, our design-driven property will be locally inspired and serve as a good base to experience Phuket and what the island has to offer,” said Mr Simon Douthett, General Manager of Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong.

Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong – Incorporating The Neighbourhood Into Design

Hotel Indigo Patong Phuket draws its energy from the surrounding neighbourhood. Over the years, Patong has evolved from a fishing village into Phuket’s most buzzing beach, brimming with options ranging from nightlife, entertainment and leisure to sports, retail and recreation. It is known for its spectacular scenery, sunset and beautiful turquoise waters off the Andaman Sea.

Quaint fishing villages, lush tropical rainforests and pulsating nightlife — these are the key influences that will contribute to the resort’s design. As a neighbourhood gallery, the art and culture of fishing villages — from their intricately and brightly painted fishing boats to stylised representation of lantern-lit boats out in the ocean — will be showcased in every guest experience across the hotel.

Vibrant and sophisticated, the rooms and suites will feature plush beddings and spa-inspired bathrooms, allowing guests an opportunity to experience Patong’s serenity and authentic heritage in a fresh and inviting way. There are six categories of rooms and suites, including the Retreat View Room, a modern sanctuary with calming garden views; Oasis Pool Access Room, where one can enjoy access to a personal terrace and the pool, and the Executive Suite — the ultimate indulgence with 72 square metres of stylish space.

Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong – The World of Gastronomy

There are several lifestyle dining offerings at Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong, helmed by Chef Morten Nielsen, who takes a very cosmopolitan approach to gastronomy.

Guests and locals alike can enjoy the hotel’s contemporary restaurant offering Butcher’s Garden, which is authentic, social and local — an escape from the buzzing nightlife in the oasis of the hotel’s forest. To tease and please curious palates, the restaurant is a butchery, charcoal grill and wine shop all in one, offering fresh local meat and seafood with a Patong twist.

Alternatively, stay plugged into the beat of the Patong tune at the craft beer and cocktail garden, Pots, Pints & Tikis. Offering a casual street-front drinking experience, it features outdoor and indoor spaces and has a casual and rustic bar feel — the perfect venue for enjoying craft beers, small bites or Chalong Bay rum cocktails.

No Name Bar is the sophisticated hidden locale showcasing an ever-evolving, locally inspired crafted beverage experience only accessible with a password. This cocktail bar will have the first and only cigar room in Patong. It is also the place to engage in the rich culture of cigars, where one can appreciate good cigars from a good range of producers.

Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong – Leisure & Meeting Facilities

Leisure facilities will range from local cultural explorations to body and mind wellness. A stylish 24-hour Fitness Center, including a Muay Thai boxing ring, will be the property’s other social heartbeat. A space for active pursuits, it will feature minimalist decor and a light colour scheme. Guests will find various Muay Thai stances prominently emblazoned on the columns in the gym, specially designed to encourage and educate guests to get in the groove of a sparring warrior.

Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong will offer three unique meeting spaces, including two meeting rooms and a rooftop deck with The Cloud Rooftop Swimming Pool & Pool Bar. With free off-street parking, onsite tech support and an inventive approach to gastronomy, it will be an ideal venue for meetings.
