Savour The Language of Flowers In An Afternoon Tea In Singapore

Conrad Centennial Singapore’s opulent Lobby Lounge presents the latest edition of its signature Language of Flowers Afternoon Tea series. Available from 1 May 2024 to 31 July 2024, this elegant experience invites you on a sensory journey through the enchanting world of flowers in an intimate afternoon tête-à-tête.

Drawing on the rich heritage of floriography, the art of conveying messages through flowers, Executive Pastry Chef Richard Chew and his team have meticulously curated a menu that continues to celebrate the essence of floral language. Each delicacy is a harmonious blend of flavours and textures in both sweet and savoury delight, designed to transport you on a journey through an enchanting garden of seasonal blooms.

As you get seated, you will be warmly welcomed with the inviting aromas of the Chrysanthemum Rise, a refreshing blend of chrysanthemum tea, cherry blossom syrup and calamansi juice.

You begin with the delightfully sweet notes of the Sakura, where sakura mousse is paired with raspberry jam, red velvet sponge, almond sable and honeycomb. A symbolic flower of the spring currently in full bloom, sakura, which has an alternative meaning of smile or laughter, marks a perfect start to the convivial ritual of afternoon tea. Relish the distinctively aromatic sweetness of the Osmanthus, a flower often touted as a symbol of love and romance in the Far East. Osmanthus jelly is beautifully paired with an equally fragrant osmanthus cream, Joconde sponge and sable dough.

The afternoon tea also presents a delightful range of savoury creations. You can indulge in the toothsome flavours of Yellow Daisy, the flower of joy, comprising crab rillette served with celeriac, crème fraiche, ikura, and coriander cress on brioche. In the Victorian language of flowers, alyssums are known to mean “worth beyond beauty”, and this sentiment is conveyed with the Alyssum, a serving of smoked salmon with cucumber, cream cheese, cranberry and trout caviar on hazelnut bread.

The experience is completed with homemade classic and raisin scones served with clotted cream and homemade wild strawberry jam.

The “Language of Flowers” Afternoon Tea is priced at $50++ per person on weekdays and$52++ per person on weekends and public holidays and is inclusive of a two-hour free flow of TWG Tea and Bacha coffee, with option to include Lillet Rosé Tonic at $10++ per glass and two hours unlimited Prosecco at $28++. The afternoon tea is available daily in two seatings: from 1 pm to 3 pm and 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
