What better way to mark Singapore’s 60th birthday than by building something unforgettable—brick by brick? In celebration of SG60, the LEGO Group has partnered with the National Museum of Singapore to launch the nation’s largest LEGO mural, alongside a joyful showcase of nostalgic creations, interactive activities and exclusive collectibles that capture the Singapore spirit through play.
At the heart of the celebration is a record-breaking mural made from 265,743 LEGO bricks, depicting a vibrant row of shophouses reminiscent of Singapore’s 1960s commercial streets. Officially recognised by the Singapore Book of Records, the mural was unveiled on 17 July 2025 by Senior Minister of State Low Yen Ling, who praised the project as a symbol of “our strength and unity—brick by brick.”
Visitors are now invited to add the final bricks themselves, making it a living artwork built in community spirit. The mural launch kicks off the National Day celebrations at the National Museum, running from 18 July to 9 August.
Housed in the Stamford Gallery, this SG60 showcase is both visual and interactive, designed to ignite nostalgia in adults and wonder in children. Featured builds include a large-scale 3D Hawkerman model, and intricate dioramas of Changi Airport’s Control Tower and bumboats cruising the Singapore River.
Singapore’s love affair with food takes centre stage too—with stunning brick builds of chicken rice, kaya toast with eggs, and chilli crab on display. Younger visitors can also spot artwork created by students from the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC), showcasing local riverside scenes through their eyes.
No visit is complete without getting hands-on. Guests can create their own Mini LEGO Orchid—a sweet memento and tribute to the national flower. This commemorative build also complements LEGO’s own Orchid (10311) and Mini Orchid (10343) sets, which remain among the brand’s most popular Singapore-inspired collectibles.
As part of the SG60 festivities, LEGO is shining a spotlight on fan-favourite builds like the LEGO® Architecture Skyline Collection: Singapore (21057) set—featuring icons such as Marina Bay Sands, One Raffles Place, Lau Pa Sat, Fullerton Hotel and the Supertree Grove. These builds aren’t just souvenirs—they’re visual tributes to Singapore’s modern skyline and design legacy.
These collectibles will be available at all LEGO Certified Stores across Singapore, with selected sets also retailing online via Lazada, Shopee, and Amazon.
Missed the museum exhibition? Fret not. From 12 to 31 August, selected highlights will pop up at the NEX Atrium. Visitors can expect to see portions of the mural, a giant SG60 Minifigure Model, the Merlion LEGO sculpture, and more.
Kids can take part in weekend Make & Take sessions featuring the LEGO Dragon Playground, or walk away with a free minifigure with any LEGO purchase made on-site.
From building Singapore’s largest LEGO mural to spotlighting iconic food, landmarks, and local spirit, LEGO’s SG60 tribute is a colourful reminder that this country’s journey is built on many small moments, coming together. Whether you’re nine or ninety, it’s a celebration that invites everyone to play a part.
