Catch Fried Rice Paradise: A Musical Feast Of Family & Flavour Singapore’s love for food and theatre comes together in a spicy, singalong showdown at Fried Rice Paradise – The Makan Party. Opening from 12 August 2025 at the newly renovated Merchant Court Ballroom at Paradox Singapore, this immersive dinner theatre experience promises an unforgettable night of drama, music and makan. Following the sold-out success of Por Por’s Big Fat Surprise Wedding in 2023 and 2024, Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) brings the heat with a bold new production where audiences become judges in a culinary face-off between two sisters vying to inherit their mother’s iconic Fried Rice Paradise restaurant. Musical Mayhem Served with Local Flavour Directed by Danny Yeo and written by Thomas Lim, the show is packed with emotional spice and cheeky humour. The soundtrack features beloved hits by Singaporean icon Dick Lee—from “Bunga Sayang” to “Mustapha”—adding a nostalgic kick that amplifies every emotional moment and wok-scorching plot twist. Unlike traditional theatre, guests here will be seated banquet-style and treated to a four-course meal that celebrates Singapore’s diverse culinary heritage. Each dish is crafted to echo the story’s themes, creating a seamless fusion of flavour and narrative. You won’t just watch the story—you’ll taste it. Be the Judge in This Spicy Family Feud At the heart of the experience is a sizzling sibling rivalry. As the sisters battle for the legacy of Fried Rice Paradise, you’ll cast your vote at the end of the meal to decide who inherits the crown. It’s dinner and theatre with stakes—and you get to help write the ending. A Feast for All Senses, All Ages With standout performances by Serene Chen, Ching Shu Yi, Natalie Yeap, Shrey Bhargava, Rafaat Haji Hamzah and Audrey Luo, the production celebrates family, identity and the stories we tell through food. It’s equal parts feel-good entertainment and cultural homage. Held at Paradox Singapore, the show’s vibrant setting reflects the spirit of the city, pairing elevated hospitality with rich storytelling. The hotel’s culinary and bar teams worked closely with the creative team to design a menu that complements each scene and amplifies the emotion in every bite.
