This Mother’s Day, Nesuto Patisserie would like to thank all mothers and magnify their simple yet extravagant love through the creation of this Mother’s Day cake – Simple Elegance. Head Pastry Chef, Alicia Wong, 29, chose to use the familiar good old cream cake as the base to invoke a sense of familiarity and nostalgia of the growing up years. Simple Elegance is not made from any fancy ingredients; but just very good quality day-to-day basic items such as jam, whipping cream, and vanilla.

Wong explained, “Many Singaporeans grew up with either Lana’s Chocolate Cake, durian cakes, or a typical cream cake, which are all just cream and cake. So this Mother’s Day, we want to translate something that is traditional and familiar like cream cake into an “atas” cream cake.”

The exterior of the cake tells a story of our mom’s love for us – simple on the outside. However, the complementing and intricate flavours and textures inside reveals the deep and beautiful love a mother has for her child since the moment of conception.

This is a cake created specially for all mothers, including mothers-to-be and mothers who had left us. This is a cake to thank all the moms who are always tidying up over the family, calling the kids to check how they are doing, cooking meals for the family, worrying about the well-being of everyone, and always loving.

Nesuto Patisserie – Petite Flower Box Arrangement Workshop

A collaboration with local brand florist Petite Fleur – this is a 2- hour floral arrangement workshop conducted by an expert florist from Petite Fleur; held at Nesuto Patisserie.

A good activity for moms and daughters to spend quality time together. Drinks and light bites from Nesuto are provided.
