Keen to own a piece of art? The Affordable Art Fair returns to Singapore once again this November for its ninth Autumn Edition. This time around, it will exhibit 80 galleries (up from 70 galleries in 2017), presenting over 600 local and international artists’ artwork all priced below $15,000, with 75% of the work below $7,500. The international range of galleries exhibiting at the fair has always been a strong attraction for visitors and this year is no exception. The Fair has seen a rise in local gallery applications this season and will present 22 galleries from Singapore (up from 18 last year).
“The essential synergy which exists between the local and international aspects of the Affordable Art Fair has been a large part of our success in the art and lifestyle market. As a brand which strives to cater to the globalised tastes of our art-loving audience in Singapore, our loyal patrons are excited not only by new artworks developed by returning and established artists, but also express an increasing appetite for fresh creations by new and emerging artists,” said Fair Director, Mr. Alan Koh.
Keeping in line with their promise of freshness for their audience, the line-up of exhibitors boasts 25 percent new galleries to the fair this year such as AAD Gallery from Australia, Pocket Fine Arts from Taiwan, and Artery from Bangkok showing alongside well-loved, long-time supporters of the fair such as Utterly Art, Red Sea Gallery, Quantum Gallery and Envie d’Art.
New and emerging artists such as Max Kong (Art Forum Gallery, Singapore) and Kim Myoung-Jin (Galerie Gaia, Korea) will show alongside established artists Ler Hock Chuan (Pibilotti Art Studio Singapore), and Steve Lindsay (Limetree Gallery UK).
Fair Director, Alan Koh’s personal fair highlights this year include the Special Projects featuring installations throughout the fair, the Children’s Art Studio hosted by Art Wonderland, the new Gastro Park initiative that offers delicious and fun F&B experience, and the best coffee in Singapore from local favourite Sarnie’s.
The Affordable Art Fair will feature events such as the Arty-licious Evening on opening night with a wide range of activities to kick-start the fair and get the ball rolling. Offering hands-on advice, and educational guidance to all newbie art lovers as well as established art collectors; the Affordable Art Fair is defined by making art accessible and as welcoming as possible, and ensuring that everyone can fall in love with art.
The Autumn Edition of the Affordable Art Fair is open to the public from 16th – 18th November at the F1 Pit Building. For more information and tickets to the Affordable Art Fair available here.
